Every day, it seems that I see another ridiculous lawsuit appear in the news. This time it’s a new class action lawsuit against Anheuser-Busch for allegedly watering down Budweiser, Michelob and its other brands of malted beverages.

Josh Boxer (I do not believe he is related to our esteemed U.S. Senator) is the lead lawyer in this lawsuit. He claims the information on which the lawsuit is based comes from former employees at Anheuser-Busch’s 13 U.S. breweries.

Personally, I did not think it was possible for American mass-produced beer to taste any more watered down. In any case, if the plaintiffs win the case, here’s what will happen, my Budweiser drinking friends: The lead plaintiffs (former employees) will likely get tens of thousands of dollars, you will receive a token $1.00 coupon on your next purchase of Anheuser-Busch beer and Mr. Boxer will walk away with millions.

I hope people will wake up and understand class action lawsuits are a scam. They are not about bringing justice to people who have been harmed. They are about making trial lawyers rich, plain and simple. When the dust clears after each of these lawsuits, who walks away rich? The lawyers, not the plaintiffs.

Millions of dollars for the lawyers, while loyal customers get coupons? That’s not something to raise a glass about.
