Bonnie Reiss joined Pegasus Capital Advisors as an Operating Advisor in September 2007. Pegasus Capital Advisors is a private equity firm that is currently pursuing opportunities for sustainable business solutions across several industries and emerging markets.
Ms. Reiss has over 25 years experience in business and entertainment law, political activism, finance, and event production, and is recognized for achievements in utilizing the entertainment industry/media to advance significant social and political causes.
Ms. Reiss served as Senior Advisor to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (2003-2007), advising the Governor on all policy and strategic issues. Ms. Reiss was the Governor's point person on education, environment, and women's issues, in addition to public safety and children's health.
Ms. Reiss also acted as the liaison to the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, and served on the State Board of Education. She was President of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Inner-City Games Foundation (renamed After-School All-Stars) and launched Arnold's All-Stars, a pilot after-school program in four Los Angeles middle schools - which became a model program in California.Ms. Reiss' career began in entertainment and public policy law during the 1980's when she had her own law practice from 1981-1988. Ms. Reiss co-founded the Hollywood Women's Political Committee in 1981 and served as Treasurer and Board Member. Early on in her career, she was involved in environmental and political activism and founded and served as President of the Earth Communications Office (ECO) from 1988-1992, where she collaborated with entertainment industry leaders and environmental experts to promote environmental causes. Ms. Reiss also produced the Opening Ceremony of President Clinton's Inauguration in 1992 and produced the First Annual Women's Health Conference in Los Angeles, CA in 1996.
Ms. Reiss is a 1981 graduate of Antioch Law School in Washington and clerked for Senator Edward Kennedy from 1979-1981. Ms. Reiss graduated Magma Cum Laude and Beta Gamma Sigma from the University of Miami in 1976 with a BBA, majoring in Accounting and Finance.
