Elizabeth Crothers is an experienced political consultant specializing in issues management, strategic research, and writing. Her company, Crothers, is based in Sacramento, CA.
Before starting her own business, Crothers was an associate at Wilson-Miller Communications, working energy and infrastructure issues. Crothers has worked on ballot initiatives for Woodward & McDowell, including serving as the Director of the Northern California Speakers Bureau in three statewide campaigns: No on Propositions 94-97, four Indian gaming compacts; Proposition 68, which would have expanded casino gambling; and Proposition 87, which would have taxed oil companies.
Prior to moving to California, Crothers was a senior account manager at Pro-Media Communications in New York City. She worked with foundations, non-profit organizations and authors to advance ideas and issues through print and broadcast media.
Before joining the private sector, Crothers was chief of staff for a member of the New York State Assembly, for whom she drafted legislation and directed press and constituent relations. In addition to her role as chief of staff, Crothers was campaign manager for two of the assemblyman's successful re-election campaigns.
Prior to her work in the New York State Legislature, Crothers was a Research Associate at the Henry L. Stimson Center, a foreign policy think tank in Washington, DC. While assisting in the completion of a book on confidence building measures between nations, Crothers worked with foreign and domestic reporters and academicians to promote increased communication between the civil and military leaders of India and Pakistan.
