Happy Presidents’ Day.

Originally, established as a holiday in 1885 to recognize President George Washington, the federal government officially still denotes Presidents’ Day as “Washington’s Birthday.” However, the holiday has become more recognized as Presidents’ Day – along with all the associated retail sales – following the holiday’s incorporation into the Uniform Monday Holiday Act of 1971.
